healthy living….does it really work?

Healthy living….there are so many articles about this matter. Eat this, do this, etc

The funny thing is that there are some people who eat all sorts of food and live long without any serious sickness or disease.

Then, there are some people who are very health conscious but, they end up getting sick…strange, isn’ t it?

I do not practise healthy living. I eat whatever I feel like eating moderately, sometimes I overeat(to satisfy my crave for that food!).

What I have realised about the so-called healthy living is that people who eat all sorts of food and who are truly HAPPY live longer without any serious sickness or disease…

Those who are health conscious but who are not peaceful and happy inside…they may end up with sickness or disease.

At the end of the day, it is whether you are peaceful and happy within you….Buddha said, “Peace comes from within. Do seek it out”. Healthy lifestyle is not enough if you are not happy and peaceful inside…..

Jenna

Throwing food…ever thought about it?

Published by jenna123 under Living Edit This

Here, I am. Throwing away bread because it has expired. I am afraid of eating it and getting sick. I think to myself, “If I get sick, I may spend more money for my medication compared to throwing it away!”.  I also think of feeding to the animals instead.

But, that is hard for me to do. Many complications can arise out of that. It will be different if I had animals in my house.

So, whenever I come across leftovers that have expired like bread or whatever, I throw them. And it always makes me feel guilty…thinking of the people suffering for food in Africa and other parts of the world. People ctually scavenging for food. I have read of children eating practically anything to survive!

It is during these times that I thank God for the food given to me and ask Him for forgiveness for throwing away the expired food!

For others who throw food like me, please do think twice……….

Do you believe in fate? No?Tell me why!

Published by jenna123 under Living Edit This

I have always wondered. Many easterners believe in fate and law of cause and effect. It is said that whom you are going to marry is predetermined by fate. And you cannot run away from it.

I really do not know. Or is it your choice? Then, why do love marriages end up in divorce? There are arranged marriages that end up in divorce as well. Does it mean that you are not fated to be with the person?

Do you not have free will to choose your life partner? Do marriages happen when your time is right or as fated?

I cannot figure it out. I have come across people who strongly believe in fate and can tell remarkable stories. Then, they are people who have made free will choices in spite of  doomed  marriage prediction and who are still are happy…….

Any opinions?

Luck!Do you believe in it?

Published by jenna123 under Uncategorized Edit This

Is there such a thing called luck? Why is that some people seem to have all the luck in the world? Have you wondered?

What is truly sad for me is that sometimes the “bad” ones seem to have all the luck in the world! And the good ones have lots of ill luck. Why?

No, I do not want to hear about karma or any such thing. I mean, how would I know what my karma is. Do not tell the baddies have good karma! That is hard to believe….really!

I wonder about the mysteries of this universe…..sometimes, people work so hard and yet, they simply do not have the luck. no raise, no promotion, ….

How do I get very lucky?Any formula? I mean, I cannot know for sure that God is out there. I believe that He is…but, I do not know what He is doing…sleeping?

Why else would baddies get so muck luck and good ones suffer?

Anyone has any ideas or opinions?

Jenna

Rain & life!

Published by jenna123 under Living Edit This

Whenever it starts raining, I think of it as a blessing from the Gods. There are some of you who would be cursing the rain especially if it is heavy because you may find it hard to drive or got caught without an umbrella and whatnot. But, for me, rain is like a blessing.  Letting me forget my sorrows, my past…….and revelling in the moment & thinking of a brighter future. The Gods are blessing me now.It is raining now. I have my favorite cup of chocolate drink. I watch the rain, I can smell the rain ….and I simply enjoy this beautiful moment in my life…a simple pleasure, I know….but are not the simplest of pleasures especially the ones that include Mother Nature the best of them all? When there is bad thunder and lightning, I think that the Gods are angry…it sounds childish…it is just my imagination…I like to think that there is a GOD out there ……one who is watching and listening to me…. Charity…way of earning money? What do you think?Simply donate?

Published by jenna123 under Living Edit This

I am sitting at a very popular coffee outlet. A lady and a handicapped child walks in and starts asking for donation. I have seen her often. The same lady and the same child….asking money for a charity house. Another Buddhist monk wanders around this area as well. He loves to hit the cup with a “thing” sound with his stick. When he entered the coffee outlet, the barista asked him to go away. And he got angry about it. After all, what is wrong of walking into a popular coffee outlet and putting his cup right under your nose when you are busy typing away at your laptop? Why should he be bothered about disturbing you? He needs the money right….I wonder. I see him often. And a Buddhist monk getting angry…When you do not donate, you can see his sour expression. Who knows? He might be cursing you to damnation and beyond. ….but, people still refuse

Young boys carrying baskets of “old” items selling for double or triple the actual prices haunt this popular area as well. They say that they need the money for school.  A gang of them! In case you are wondering, this place is supposed to have rich residents…..

What is the truth? What would you do?Donate? Or would you say no? Any personal experience of this kind?

Jenna

Angry?Read this story!

Published by jenna123 under Living Edit This

Hi. I was wondering what to write today. Initially, I wanted to paste some jokes to make people laugh…After all, laughter is the best medicine. Then, I came across this sad and touching story which was sent to me by one of my friends…no, no,  not because I lose my temper often…Actually, my problem is that I do not lose my temper easily and do not tell people off easily…sometimes, I know that it is necessary to tell people off but, I find it difficult..so, I used to think that if I can work myself up, then, I can easily tell people off… that is my problem!Too soft!I consider it as a negative trait for me…

Anyway, the story is as below :-

While a man was washing his new car, his 4 yr old son picked stone & scratched lines on the side of the car. In anger, the man took the child’s hand & hit it many times, not realizing he was using a wrench. At the hospital, the child lost all his fingers due to multiple fractures. Whe the child saw his father…. with painful eyes he asked ‘Dad when will my fingers grow back?’ Man was so hurt and speechless. He went back to car and kicked it a lot of times. Devastated by his own actions….. . sitting in front of that car he looked at the scratches, child had written ‘LOVE YOU DAD’. The next day that man committed suicide. . . Anger and Love have no limits, Choose the later to have a beautiful & lovely life …. Things are to be used and people are to be loved, But the problem in today’s world is that People are used and things are loved…….

So, please try to control your anger. As Confucious said, “In the midst of great anger, do not answer a man ’s letter;in the midst of great happiness, do not promise a man anything.”

Can anyone tell me why he or she smokes?Plzzzzzzz!

It is expected that cancer will overtake heart disease in the 2010s. Smoking is said to be the culprit. Here, I am breathing in cigarette smoke because the guy sitting next to me could not care less about the others around him who are breathing in the smoke…He keeps smoking the cigarettes one after another…..I have got this strong “urge” to call the fire engine…tell them that there is A LOT OF SMOKE  here….

I mean, why do people light up one cigarette after another especially when they do not even bother to finish one cigarette? It is as if he is lighting it up for me…so that I can breathe in the “nicotine” which will enter my blood system and cause me “cancer” later on…that is the sad part…I am not even a smoker!

When I go back home, I can smell cigarette smoke all over me…my hair , my clothes…like as it I have been smoking heavily…

Why smoke at the expense of other people? Unless it is labelled as a smoking area…for you to puff and puff and cause a smoke room(there is one at the railway station!)….

So, please, to all smokers out there, think about your health if not the health of others before you start puffing away….

Anyway, I am truly very curious..Why do you smoke? Finally, I come to the question. I mean it. Why do you smoke one cigarette after another? How does it help? What do you get out it?Truly, I want to know. Who knows?I may start smoking as well. Then, I would not mind the thick smoke which suffocates me and makes me want to cough….

To all the Americans, best of luck with your new President!I think that you need it badly…..unlike movie stars who have fans after acting in movies…Obama seems to have fans without really doing anything yet…Gosh!I was wondering..why was he not famous in his former governing state like this? I mean, if he had been such a good governer, he would have appeared in the media, right?no?I suppose that it is because people want to believe what they want to believe…..hope!….. Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin : “I am deeply convinced that the biggest disappointments are born out of big expectations,” he said during a trip to Berlin at the weekend when asked about Obama. …Please bear this in mind….

Best Regards,

Jenna

Astrology Prediction for Obama! How true is it?

Published by jenna123 under Living Edit This

Astrology..hmm. There are many astrological predictions for Obama and his administration. The smart ones(if you read between the lines!) always include “a small seed of doubt”(just in case!) when they make predictions. But, when the US elections were near CLEAR winning point between Hilary & Obama, they predicted his win. The same when it was between McCain & Obama. There are people who are gullible enough to believe them!

I should know about astrology…God only knows how much of money I spent to do this & that! But, they never worked! And their predictions never came true! When I went back to some of them to ask why, they came up with another beautiful story! Some even got angry!

What used to make me angry is the way some of them play with your hopes & emotions even your miseries …to emotionally blackmail you and earn money!

To date, I have  come across only very few astrologers who could tell me about my past  or my character accurately to SOME EXTENT. But, that is where it ended…not my future!!!!No, not my future!

Of course, one could say astrologers are not GOD to predict the future accurately!True enough! But, in today ’s world, there are so many “bogus” ones who prey on people especially their miseries..and they are more advanced these days..what with websites…

In my opinion, to be a good astrologer, you need to have true knowledge, experience, skills but more importantly, you need to be a good person who is God-fearing, one who understands that astrology is supposed to be God ’s gift to mankind…one should have some psychic ability/have strong intuition powers to interpret things more accurately! Then, some of their future predictions may come true!

Dear Astrologers, I did not mention any names. Because they are some truly good ones in this world….hope so!

I read that a Nepali astrologer predicted a second term for Obama in yahoo….well, here is my prediction….he will not be reelected…the Obama euphoria is going to die soon & reality is going to start sinking in…..time will tell you the truth…..no offense to the ever sensitive Obama supporters…it is just my opinion!!! I do not want to take away anyone ’s hope…it is just that I feel gloomy today,20-1-2009!Sorry!And no, I am not a US resident!I am a resident of another country who believes that US wields much power over the world! So, it effects me as well…no?

By the way, thank you, countrygirl for your response to my previous post. I typed 2 times to reply but, I do not know if it reached you. Trust in God for He will deliver! My warmest wishes & hope for you!

Jenna

Obamania view from a non-US resident!

Published by jenna123 under Living Edit This

I am not a US resident. So,maybe I should not write this. But then, everyone is entitled to their opinions, right?

I just read in the news about the  US150million(?) to be spent for his inauguration…Do you think that kings spend as much for their coronation? I wonder! I am also wondering something else. Why are they spending so much when there is a huge economic crisis in US? Wow! That much of money can be used in so many ways!Amazing that Obama does not mind spending so much money! And if he does not improve the US economy as expected by the so-called US voters who voted for him with hope in their hearts….too bad!He has only recently said that it might take him a year or maybe a NUMBER OF YEARS before he can do truly do something about it…So, perhaps, the ones who voted for him should vote again…he already told you in advance!Come on!

For the Obama fans, please do not misunderstand…. I am not critising him….I am just wondering…..He is definitely a good talker(what did you expect out of a lawyer?)…But,can he perform? That is what I am truly wondering!

Anyway, I would not want to take away HOPE. So, let us hope that he brings vital changes as he resoundingly promised!!(for the better, please!).

No, I am not a busybody. It so happens that the US President is powerful enough to effect the rest of the world. So, I am concerned & worried….

I have always admired US..the statue of liberty & what it stands for….

Anyway, no offense to anyone especially the passionate Obama fans…Is he a celebrity or a President? We will know as time goes on…Time will tell.. like what Bush said(I am not his fan!!!).

Anyway, Happy Obamania tomorrow for Obama fans…

Regards,

Jenna
