Can anyone tell me why he or she smokes?Plzzzzzzz!
It is expected that cancer will overtake heart disease in the 2010s. Smoking is said to be the culprit. Here, I am breathing in cigarette smoke because the guy sitting next to me could not care less about the others around him who are breathing in the smoke…He keeps smoking the cigarettes one after another…..I have got this strong “urge” to call the fire engine…tell them that there is A LOT OF SMOKE here….
I mean, why do people light up one cigarette after another especially when they do not even bother to finish one cigarette? It is as if he is lighting it up for me…so that I can breathe in the “nicotine” which will enter my blood system and cause me “cancer” later on…that is the sad part…I am not even a smoker!
When I go back home, I can smell cigarette smoke all over me…my hair , my clothes…like as it I have been smoking heavily…
Why smoke at the expense of other people? Unless it is labelled as a smoking area…for you to puff and puff and cause a smoke room(there is one at the railway station!)….
So, please, to all smokers out there, think about your health if not the health of others before you start puffing away….
Anyway, I am truly very curious..Why do you smoke? Finally, I come to the question. I mean it. Why do you smoke one cigarette after another? How does it help? What do you get out it?Truly, I want to know. Who knows?I may start smoking as well. Then, I would not mind the thick smoke which suffocates me and makes me want to cough….
To all the Americans, best of luck with your new President!I think that you need it badly…..unlike movie stars who have fans after acting in movies…Obama seems to have fans without really doing anything yet…Gosh!I was wondering..why was he not famous in his former governing state like this? I mean, if he had been such a good governer, he would have appeared in the media, right?no?I suppose that it is because people want to believe what they want to believe…..hope!….. Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin : “I am deeply convinced that the biggest disappointments are born out of big expectations,” he said during a trip to Berlin at the weekend when asked about Obama. …Please bear this in mind….

First of all I am a smoker.
I am also a considerate smoker, as in, I don’t smoke around other people. Even when I can, if there’s a non smoker in my proximity I don’t really enjoy it because I’m overly conscious of it.
I’ve tried quitting a dozen times and will continue to try, but until then it’s an addiction. The addiction has been equated with the same addiction of heroin. Therefore, thinking about my health or your health is not stronger than the addiction that needs to be filled. I don’t know why people smoke one after another. There is another issue here on passive aggressive non smokers. If a smoker comes to where you are and pulls out a cigarette, it is acceptable for you ask them not to light up. Then it becomes a conscious decision for the other person to agree or not agree. If they decide to light up anyway, then it is your decision to stay or not stay. In either case you gain personal power by speaking up. If a person doesn’t know you are annoyed by their behavior, the behavior will never change.
Hi. Gary. Thank you very much for your response. I do not know if I am wrong but, I think that you are one of the few people (the smoking ones!)who is considerate about the non-smokers sitting around you. Maybe, it is a reflection of your character. Are you the considerate type of individual? The one who cares about people?…
Well, I applaud you for trying to quit smoking & I am impressed that you “never say die!”Bravo!
Thanks for your advice. But, I guess that I am a coward…some people really “tell you off” to your face. They can be rude, believe me! I try to give some subtle hints by waving my hand when the cigarette smoke comes over to my side…but, only a few bother to take the hint! My option, as you say, is to walk away which I normally do…
This reminds of an incident…there was this guy who was smoking at an area where was smoking was not encouraged…there were lots of people in the queue, young and old. One guy spoke up. But, the smoker ignored him thoroughly although the guy who spoke was clearly angry about it….
With regards to your comment about addiction, I simply have to tell you this story. As I am a non-smoker, I do not know whether to believe it or not…
There is this old lady whom I met somewhere…she told that she used to smoke for 18 years and that she was a heavy smoker…so, I asked her what made her stop…
Her answer is…one day, she was sitting in her hall waiting for her hubby & busy smoking away. But, accidentally, she burnt a small hole in her Channel blouse (which she went all the way to another country to buy!). Immediately, she took all the cigarettes, lighter, etc & threw them away or something like that. That was the end of her smoking days….what do you think? I find it hard to believe but, I do not know…I am not a smoker
Anyway, my best wishes for you to quit smoking (you also save money!)…and once again, thanks for your advice…

Jenna
