Obama’s Ersatz Capitalism…is it true?

Obama ’s capitalism…is it true? go to this link,http://www.nytimes.com/2009/04/01/opinion/01stiglitz.html?pagewanted=2&_r=1…

all of us would like to hope not. but, then, reality check is important, isn ‘t it? i mean, if a nobel prize winner predicts “doom”….well, that is not the exact word he used(so, do not jump on me for that!)….he is predicting a “lose” situation…

Obama ’s new energy bill

Yes. I just found out about the energy portion of the new economic stimulus bill. It is supposed to create many jobs all over US. 550 jobs in Georgia(of course, it is after spending USD64 million;spend money to create jobs…), 11 jobs in Peoria,Arizona(after spending  another USD2.5 million) and the list goes on…..

But, cities like San Francisco refuse to use Fed funds for their energy project. They will collect their very own bio-diesel sources : used  grease and oil!Resourceful, aren ‘t they? They will be recycling these used oils to produce bio-diesel!Kudos to them!

What do you think of using bio-diesel? It is said to be environmental friendly. If I am not mistaken, bio-diesel usage is also beneficial to the environment!

Any comments?

Obama’s Hubris Is Showing….an article to be read!

Creators Syndicate – Hubris is the word that comes to mind as I listen to President Obama lay out his plan to rescue the economy, create 4 million jobs, halve the deficit in four years, and give quality health care to every American. The man has big ambitions and an even bigger ego. It has been one of the most troubling aspects of his character as it has emerged on the national scene in the last two years. He seems, almost literally, to believe he walks on water. No one — no matter how talented — could accomplish a fraction of what Obama has planned in a good economy, much less the weakened one we have right now. Worse, he thinks he can do this simply by taxing the rich, a fantasy only someone who knows nothing about human behavior, much less the U.S. tax system, could possibly believe.

This is what the president has planned in the health care arena: $634 billion as a down payment on a new system that would provide insurance to those uninsured Americans, about 47 million people at last count. Sounds great — except when you consider who is going to pay for it. About half the money, the White House claims, will come from tax increases on the wealthiest 2 percent of Americans, those earning $250,000 a year or more, and savings from already existing health programs. But the math doesn’t add up. There simply aren’t enough rich people to pay for the Democrats’ plans, even if the president could figure out a scheme to confiscate every penny the rich now earn.

As the Wall Street Journal editors pointed out Feb. 26, 2009, the roughly 3.8 million income tax filers who had more than $200,000 in adjusted gross income (the IRS doesn’t break it down at the $250,000 level) paid $522 billion in income taxes, about 62 percent of all taxes paid in 2006. And if the taxman simply took every dime earned by those in the very top group — $500,000 and above — it would pay for about one year’s worth of free health insurance for the uninsured.

But there’d be no rich people left for a second or third or fourth year of such a scheme. We’ve seen this kind of plan before, in Stalin’s Russia and Mao’s China — free health care, yes, but of universally lousy quality and living standards for everyone that would make the poorest Americans look rich by comparison.

I’m not suggesting President Obama is a communist, but he is a utopian — and that’s the danger. He wants to create a perfect society in which the state takes care of everyone in need. It sounds wonderful — but the road to economic ruin and loss of liberty is paved by well-meaning men with good intentions.

The rich — as liberals like to call them — are the people in this society who earn enough to invest and create jobs so that all the rest of us can live decently. A couple earning $50,000 a year with two kids doesn’t have money left over after paying the bills to invest in the stock market or even hire one part-time worker at minimum wage.

Small and medium-size businesses create most of the jobs in our economy, and the people who start and run those businesses are the very taxpayers Obama is targeting. He says he’s going to cut the deductions these people take on their tax returns by about 20 percent — which means they’ll have less to pay their employees and less incentive to hire new ones.

And the worst part of Obama’s plan is that it will actually increase the deficit, not halve it as he promises. When individuals have disincentives to earn more money because Uncle Sam will take more of every extra penny they earn, they do the natural thing: They cut back on work. And when they earn less, they pay less in taxes. Obama’s plan will mean a rush to the bottom — where government incentives give the biggest rewards to those who produce the least. Pretty soon there won’t be anyone to foot the bill.

Maybe if President Obama had spent time in the real economy, not simply as the recipient of government or nonprofit paychecks his whole life, he’d be a little less confident in his utopian plans.

Wow! US900million for GAZA?Trillion deficits not enough?

I really cannot believe it. US900 million to be pledged for GAZA construction!!!And if I recall correctly, Hilary just visited China and made certain requests. She asked China not to demand for the loan US took from China….wait for payments…And better still, she asked China to buy more US treasury bonds!!(somehow, I do no think that China is going to do so just because Hilary asked!!!)

Wow, first it was the commotion about the stimulus bill and now, it is US900million(maybe US1billion) to be used for GAZA…on the other hand, I read about US citizens getting 1 dollar food stamps….What is Obama?A joker?Ops sorry, he has high approval ratings based on 1500 people who took the survey..Just curious…how many million people are there in US?look at the ratio taken by geniuses???US newspaper geniuses???Can’t they report unbiased news anymore???

Beautiful and gorgeous Michelle Obama -Vogue?

Published by jenna123 under Living, News, US Politics Edit This

Yes, I have been reading much about Obama “this” and “that” until I am sort of sick and tired of seeing his face and reading about him….what I mean is that there has been too much of publicity about him but, I have not “seen” any real results YET!Wonder if the results will be good or bad…

And now, I read about Michelle Obama to be featured on Vogue magazine…I read in the media about Michelle Obama being beautiful etc etc…sorry if I sound harsh or whatsover but, for the life of me, I cannot understand how some people can classify her as a beautiful woman(I mean they referred to her physical beauty!)..how could the media write about her so-called physical beauty and attractiveness…I have been looking really hard at her photos and honest to GOD, I cannot say that she is a beautiful person or really sweet-looking person or whatnot….if I had known her personally, perhaps, I may find her inner beauty…which I do not think that the media was talking about….

Are people so blinded by Obama(that includes the media) that they can come out with such comments?IT really seems very delusional and pathethic….

Perhaps, spectacles with HIGH power is necessary….and now, Vogue is featuring her…perhaps, with the same sort of comments…even air-brushing and whatnot is doing ahem…much!

Really…I am not one who likes people to emphasize on physical beauty because I believe what you are is truly important(I am not sour grapes at least based on the feedback I received about my looks…not delusional, please!)…my philosophy is such …external beauty is not permanent

Nevertheless, I just cannot digest reading such media hype!!!It is really hard to swallow!!!

Jenna
