Thanks, Joanne for your reply. It was comforting to read your words. My eyes still fill up with tears whenever I read some 'touching' article about him. I cannot help myself. My heart feels a bit empty right now....like something is 'missing'.

I edited my blog post after finding a few grammar errors. I wrote that in the wee hours of the morning. It just poured out from my heart.

I am posting a comment in your blog. Thanks once again.

I often feel the same way, when it comes to my parents. Perhaps some day we'll find the seed to growing that money tree we all need to provide for everybody.

I was also shocked to hear about her death, how awful and tragic. I agree with your position, it absolutely makes you think and reminds you that life is precious and everyday is precious because you never know how you're going to go or when, so don't take anything for granted! Thank God daily for the life He has given you and the blessings he has bestowed upon you.

Hi. Thank you for your response, countrygirl. And sorry for the late reply.

When I was young, I read about Abe, Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt & George Washington among others. I was touched and impressed by these great men & their leadership abilities. There are other things about US that impressed me too. But, I also believe that some groups of people cannot cause more damages(putting it lightly!) to the world at large because of the power that US wields.....

My heart goes out to your country & its people especially when I started reading about food stamps and what not. It seems that this grand scale celebration is such a waste... whatever the reason or excuse.

Reading your response made me very sad that day...I can only imagine what it feels for you & others

God willing, I will be paying attention to what happens over the next few years....

Have faith for God knows best!

With warmest regards,

Hi. Gary. Thank you very much for your response. I do not know if I am wrong but, I think that you are one of the few people (the smoking ones!)who is considerate about the non-smokers sitting around you. Maybe, it is a reflection of your character. Are you the considerate type of individual? The one who cares about people?...
Well, I applaud you for trying to quit smoking & I am impressed that you "never say die!"Bravo!
Thanks for your advice. But, I guess that I am a coward...some people really "tell you off" to your face. They can be rude, believe me! I try to give some subtle hints by waving my hand when the cigarette smoke comes over to my side...but, only a few bother to take the hint! My option, as you say, is to walk away which I normally do...
This reminds of an incident...there was this guy who was smoking at an area where was smoking was not encouraged...there were lots of people in the queue, young and old. One guy spoke up. But, the smoker ignored him thoroughly although the guy who spoke was clearly angry about it....

With regards to your comment about addiction, I simply have to tell you this story. As I am a non-smoker, I do not know whether to believe it or not...
There is this old lady whom I met somewhere...she told that she used to smoke for 18 years and that she was a heavy smoker...so, I asked her what made her stop...
Her answer is...one day, she was sitting in her hall waiting for her hubby & busy smoking away. But, accidentally, she burnt a small hole in her Channel blouse (which she went all the way to another country to buy!). Immediately, she took all the cigarettes, lighter, etc & threw them away or something like that. That was the end of her smoking days....what do you think? I find it hard to believe but, I do not know...I am not a smoker

Anyway, my best wishes for you to quit smoking (you also save money!)...and once again, thanks for your advice...

Regards,

Jenna

First of all I am a smoker.
I am also a considerate smoker, as in, I don't smoke around other people. Even when I can, if there's a non smoker in my proximity I don't really enjoy it because I'm overly conscious of it.
I've tried quitting a dozen times and will continue to try, but until then it's an addiction. The addiction has been equated with the same addiction of heroin. Therefore, thinking about my health or your health is not stronger than the addiction that needs to be filled. I don't know why people smoke one after another. There is another issue here on passive aggressive non smokers. If a smoker comes to where you are and pulls out a cigarette, it is acceptable for you ask them not to light up. Then it becomes a conscious decision for the other person to agree or not agree. If they decide to light up anyway, then it is your decision to stay or not stay. In either case you gain personal power by speaking up. If a person doesn't know you are annoyed by their behavior, the behavior will never change.

Hello: I AM a US resident - born and bred - and I AM NOT an Obama fan. You are correct in your thinking that with our current economic crisis, it is totally ridiculous that we would be spending this amount of money on an inauguration.

There are many, many of us, here who are watching our country fail miserably. The country that we (over 50) citizens have worked and sweated to keep true to it's original goals, is rapidly becoming something that we can no longer be proud of.

I hope you continue to pay attention; these next 4 years will see changes - yes, changes that he promised, but none for the better.
